Porsche said on Monday the 2021 model year would include three new packages of options first available on the Turbo S and the availability of InnoDrive and Smartlift. Both InnoDrive and smart lift are new features to the 911 lineup and will be optional with any model with the PDK transmission. The lower-end 911s also get the optional lightweight and noise-insulated glass, which promises to reduce the noise from the road and wind and also save 8 pounds of weight. The 911’s optional driver-assistance features offered by Porsche are now packaged under the InnoDrive label, and lane-keep assist is currently provided. The optional front axle lift system adds GPS capability so that it can remember to lift the nose at specific programmable locations automatically. And finally, the Sport Chrono Package now includes a digital display in the gauge cluster for tire temperature. Although the company hasn’t yet announced specific timing for these updates or option pricing, the 2021 Porsche 911 models are expected to arrive in the United States later this year. It is also likely that the pricing for the newer model won’t be so much different from the 2020 model’s price, which starts at $98,750 for the base Carerra coupe. It’s bigger news for Porsche 911 buyers in Europe; the Carrera S and 4S will now boast a manual transmission option on the continent. The German marque already announced the row-your-own option for US-spec models back in October of last year.
